Whilst we have made every effort to ensure that the content of this website is as accurate as possible, we do not guarantee the content will be free of errors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any kind of loss or damage from action taken or reliance placed on information contained on this website.
Orders
Any order for goods placed through our website shall be subject to these Terms and Conditions. All other Terms and Conditions expressed or implied by statute or otherwise are excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to limit any rights you might have as a consumer under any applicable law or other statutory rights that may not be excluded.
We must receive payment for the total price of the goods that you order before your order can be processed. Once we have received payment, we will confirm that your order has been received by sending an e-mail to you at the e-mail address you provide in your order form. Order acceptance and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the despatch to you of the goods ordered.
There are two main ordering procedures available in our online shopping system.
- We sometimes publish a discounted product or goods sold by a direct supplier, occasionally a “reduced value” item, and this will be shipped in unopened packaging with so-called “drop shipping.”
- The most common is the PDI or Start and Go service when we unpack, check, assemble, upload and demonstrate the product. This is an extra service at an additional cost. This service can be added to the purchase.
PDI. & Start and go
All the machinery we sell is brand new, but before delivery, it will have been built up and thoroughly tested, being subject to a Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI). That means there may be traces of oil or fuel and minor signs of use on your machine, and it may not be in its original box. Items are often also repackaged to ensure safe delivery. If you have any concerns about this, please do contact us.
Our Start and Go service is available to most of the UK mainland*. Products that receive our Start and Go service will need to be assembled and tested before dispatch. Because of this, delivery is 5-7 working days for all Start and Go products (if ordered Mon-Fri, stock permitting). Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on the following Monday (or Tuesday if a bank holiday). The Transport Company will contact you to book your delivery. Please ensure you provide a daytime contact number on your order.
Delivery
Delivery charges vary upon several factors, including parcel weight, delivery location, and the courier used; please see our delivery page for the latest and up-to-date delivery charges, or add item(s) to your basket and enter the delivery postcode on the basket page to see the available options and corresponding prices.
Currently we offer standard shipping across the UK, and express shipping to select UK addresses only; our dispatch times are calculated in working days i.e. Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays, and weekends), they are only estimates as factors including seasonality, stock availability and location may affect these; we will endeavour to update our delivery page and other pages on our website with up-to-date information. Our express shipping option means that any order placed on a given day will be dispatched the following working day i.e. an order placed on Wednesday using express shipping will be dispatched on Friday.
We use various couriers, and most will deliver 8 am – 6 pm, Monday – Friday, although delivery attempts outside of these hours may be made (for example, additional hours may be worked over the festive period). All our couriers usually deliver on the next available working day after collecting the consignment from us, although this isn’t guaranteed, especially for harder-to-reach areas where delivery may take additional days.
Our delivery carriers a usually willing to leave items in a safe place if you are out, although note we cannot be held responsible for any loss of damage to items because of them being left unattended based on your instructions.
Direct deliveries (where available) and emergency order charges will be passed on to the customer at cost.
Similarly, please note if you choose to arrange a different delivery address with the courier (including to a local pick-up point), then the contract between Blades Garden Machinery and yourself is broken, and liability for the goods is the responsibility of the customer; note you will not be covered by your card company should anything happen in this instance, either.
If a consignment is delivered damaged, you must ask the carrier to mark it as such so that we can make a claim on your behalf. You will not be covered in this instance if you do not mark your consignment as ‘damaged’.
Warranty
All products are covered by a full manufacturer’s warranty, the period of which varies according to the product. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase, and some are conditional on the product being serviced at the recommended intervals by an approved dealer.
The warranty covers faults, which may occur due to faulty components or workmanship but excludes consumable items, fair wear and tear or defects caused by misuse.
Blades Garden Machinery may provide a limited warranty on purchasing used products, but this is not equivalent to a full manufacturer’s warranty.
This may include a malfunction due to an installation failure and faulty components or workmanship but excludes consumable items, fair wear and tear or defects caused by misuse.
Liability
If the goods we deliver are not what you ordered or are damaged or defective or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity, we shall have no liability to you unless you notify us by e-mail or in writing at our contact address within 14 days. If you notify a problem to us under this condition, our only obligation will be:
- To make good any shortage or non-delivery;
- To repair or replace any goods that are damaged or defective; or if repair to or replacement of the goods is not possible, or the cost of repair or replacement is disproportionate in the circumstances, to give you a partial or full refund for the goods in question, depending on what is reasonable in the circumstances.
Save as precluded by law, we will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, damage, or expenses (including loss of profits, business or goodwill) howsoever arising out of any problem you notify to us under this condition and we shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation.
Security
Blades Garden Machinery work in partnership with WooCommerce and Stripe to ensure all information you give us during the order process is encrypted before transmission via the WooCommerce. If any other Internet user should intercept the communication, they will only be able to see it in the encrypted form. Visit https://stripe.com for more information.
Privacy
We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that you provide only for the purpose of processing your order or enquiry and evaluating our performance. Your name, address and telephone number will be provided to our courier to allow them to deliver your order. Where it is necessary to validate the warranty on your purchase we may complete and submit the registration details on your behalf. Typically this would involve supplying your name, address, telephone number and details of the equipment purchased to the manufacturer of the equipment or the manufacturer’s UK representative of the manufacturer if not UK based. The prices shown are only applicable to purchases made via the Blades Garden Machinery Website. Prices in our stores may vary from those shown on the website. Special offers and promotions advertised in the press or other media may be excluded unless specifically advertised as available online. All prices are correct at the time of display online and include VAT where appropriate. We regret we are not able to offer VAT exclusive pricing for deliveries to the Channel Islands. In the unlikely event of an administrative error resulting in an incorrect price being displayed, we reserve the right to correct the price. In these circumstances, you will not be bound to continue with your purchase and will be asked to e-mail us to confirm that you wish to proceed.
Promotional items
Orders placed with a free promotional item
- The free promotional item(s) will be listed on the product page of qualifying products, which when added to the basket will automatically add the free item(s) with a £0 value
- All free items are subject to availability, are non-transferable, and there are no cash alternatives or other gifts (we may substitute oil, if necessary)
- Promotions are applied to new orders only
- Only one free gift of the same type may be applied to an order
- Should you return part/all of your order and it no longer qualifies for the promotion, we expect the free item(s) to be returned else we will deduct the items full price from the value of the refund
